Every time someone wins the gold medal, once the national anthem is over, the gold medalist invites the silver and bronze medalists up onto the podium with him/her. It seems this is not only tradition but mandatory now, as a winner who doesn’t invite the others up would be seen as having poor sportsmanship, I suppose.
I was wondering who started this, or has it always been tradition?

In history, my teacher said that the pyramids were topped with several tons of gold. I asked how the robbers were able to get the gold down from the tops, and she said she couldn’t find how they were removed anywhere. If someone could answer this with a page cite, I would really appreciate it.
